If I recall correctly, the Mustang injectors (used in a 5.0 liter Ford engine) are high impedance, while earlier cars use low impedance so they won't work on something like a 323.

The Mustang injectors are the hot tip for M30 engines (the 535 engine used in e28 and e34 cars), as they fit right in, flow a little more than the stock injectors, and are cheaper than original equipment - lots of Mustang guys replace their injectors with aftermarket parts when they hop up their cars, and then they put the original ones on eBay. For a while, there was a guy selling them who'd take three sets of Mustang injectors (3x8=24) and then he'd divide them up into four sets of six to sell to us BMW guys.

Here are some good sources for OEM parts:

Steve Haygood at http://www.stevehaygood.com/ or 706-647-0302

Brian Scroggins, who works in the parts department of Chattanooga BMW (also known to us e28 guys as Brian the Parts Pimp ;-) ): brianscroggins@comcast.net or 800-491-7649

Maximillian Importing, at http://www.partsforbmws.com/ or 800-950-2002

Any of these places will give you the best possible pricing on OEM BMW parts, are familiar with older cars, and are good people to deal with.
