As for things to eat, one word -- JELLO. Actually, ice cream is pretty good, too. At least for a few days. Avoid foods that break into hard, little pieces that can get stuck in the holes in your mounth (e.g., peanuts, potato chips, etc.). Cold drinks feel good, particularly Starbuck's Frozen Frapoccino and milkshakes.

I'd avoid kissing the girlfriend for a few days. Your breath will be awful and you don't want to get an infection in the open wounds. Watch for signs of fever and tell your dentist immediately if that happens. I took antibiotics for about a week afterward, just to be safe.
