You know it's gotten out of hand when even economy cars offer 17's either as standard equipment or as an option. What's next? Mounting tractor tires on a Hyundai Accent?

My E32 has 16 inch wheels - just one size up from stock, and that's completely ideal for me. 22, 23, and 24 inch rim sizes are commentary on just how out of control this trend has become. One only needs to see the current trend of mounting these enormous tires and wheels under 70's and 80's full size sedans, jacked up to ridiculous heights to fit the tires beneath their wheelwells, offers up a visual example of how ridiculous this has become.

Unless you're prepared to start shopping for tires in the 4 x 4 section of your local tire shop, this nutty love affair with gigantic tires and rims has stop somewhere.
