Hey Everyone,
Ben and I helped out Craig with the brake pad install on him M5 yesterday and here are some pictures of the event.

We changed out the brake pads in all four corners of the car, replaced one brake pad sensor in the front driver's side (easy stuff, sorry no photo on that one) and also replaced the air filter.

You will notice that we used a "C-clamp" to compress the brake calipers. Sometimes I've seen in the Bentley's manual that they use their hands to compress the piston back into the caliper, but I find that almost impossible to seat the piston back into place without using more pressure. The C-clamp is easier, faster and you can control the pressure just as easy as using your hands. This is a technique my father taught me and I've never caused ANY damage to any of my braking systems I've worked on.

In this procedure you will want to check the level of your brake fluid, and remove some of the fluid from the brake fluid reservoir since it might overflow like it did in our case! We checked it, but a bit more fluid than expected ran out of the system and onto the garage floor (Sorry Craig!!!) accidently! Brake fluid will eat through everything (just kidding,) but it can be damaging to paint or other finishes like clear coat and should be cleaned up quickly.

I hope you enjoy the pictures, it was a nice time and as you can see by the pictures... doing brakes is pretty simple!
