Hello, I am happy to be returning to the bimmerboard, formerly of the E32 board, now reincarnated as an E39.

My wife and I bought a 528i with a manual transmission. So far, I need to replace the front strut inserts, install some sort of iPod integration, reset the service interval indicator, and a few other minor things.

Is there any particular reason why the trunk lid doesn't open from the handle, but does open from the button below the instrument panel and the remote key?

Also, I was expecting some obc functionality in the mid, but without an owners manual I'm not sure whether or not it's there, let alone how to make it work.

Is it possible to upgrade from the standard remote key to the later version, with the color BMW roundel?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but I look forward to becoming an active board member again.
