The car will only have either a TCU or a ULF? The modules are similar in function and a car only has wiring for one. So, I am curious what modules you found that you are unplugging and reconnecting.

Based on the year of your car, it most likely came with a factory-equipped TCU module. The ULF modules do not support BMW Assist, and that is one of the primary reasons BMW shifted from the ULF to the TCU modules.
