Okay, pics I can view now. It has been on ebay for weeks. It will not sell in CA as it failed smog plus back DMV stuff. I THINK it has to pass smog before you can get through the DMV nonsense there. I spoke with Vern a while back, he said the biggest reason they fail there is that NOx runs high as the car runs lean, thus hot.

Basically needs a 3bar FPR, new cat, and then to be dialed in with a wideband.

Anyway, I do not care for any of the wheels he has on there so I would take the crap 14s and offer less cash or if the M parallels are real, take them provided the tread is good then sell them off.

The miles are probably near 200,000 as the odo is broken. Odd to me why the front seats are so bleached out and the rear is much darker at least they are in good shape.

The car's motor and bumpers are not worth $2000. Guy here in DFW has been trying to sell that stuff on ebay for nearly a month now (FWIW, I paid $100 for an M106 short block). Figure $100 for each bumper at the most. I would be surprised if a full part out on it would yield more than $2k. The old K27s are usually good for nothing more than cores due to age, maybe $250? The manifold, eh, some guy just sold one for about $70 on mye28. You can get a TiAL wastegate adapter for about $60 now. It is just old, dated 1970s technology. It was great when it was new, but now you can buy better replacement parts for great prices.

Offer $750 for it as it probably needs EVERYTHING. To me it is not really worth much more, maybe $1k if you are hard up for one as it is a running parts car with acceptable paint. It will need $2-4k real quick to be a good road car.

He said it has significant driveline vibrations upon acceleration. You may need more than just a driveshaft center support, you may end up out $500 for a reman DS (find a good local place, Portland uses proprietary U joints which are ONLY serviceable through them... not what you want). I can assure you the entire rear suspension needs to be gone through, there is another $700 in parts including shocks and brakes. The front will set you back nearly $1000 with struts, control arms, and brakes.

I bet you $100 the entire climate system is dead. I am going through mine on the 735i currently. I am $400 into for just a new Sanden compressor, bracket, hose, and '86 condenser. I had to purchase $150 in vacuum pods. Around $75 for the rest of my AC parts... dryer, switches, etc.

It adds up quick.

Just my 2¢
