The cluster and lcm stores the mileage, also when the cluster is coded to the vehicle, the vin is also stored, and can only be coded one time only. (this is to prevent mileage tampering). If the manipulation dot is visible. the lcm will record the mileage, the cluster still make work, but possible speedo function may be off by a few miles. some indy shops may have software to help you out. but i doupt it. Dealerships can not do this and they have the latest and greatest when it comes to software....goodluck.
