Subject: Transtar Amber Undercoating - Nice Stuff!

I recently spent a few hours trying to protect my Bimmer from the elements and unlike new cars, mine had some some protection but not as much as I personally like. On the advice of my paint jobber, I tried a can of this:

Transtar Amber

I love this stuff! It is initially thin and flows into the small frame and body seams, door flanges, trunk voids and hood cavities. Once it dries, it becomes waxy and holds its place. The only real place I found this material on my car was by the battery on the quarter panel where it meets the wheel well.

After my car hadn't seen rain for about 3 days, I injected this into about every hole I could find. I pulled the lower door water seal off on the doors and loaded the lower door skins with this and forced it to come out of the drains. Once it dried, I just wiped the excess off. If you want to add some life to your sheet metal and are "lucky" enough to live up north, this is well worth the time and cheap price!
