Subject: help installing the M series console gauges into a 2.8L

OK, so I picked up another center console with a/c controls and radio hole for my 2000 2.8L at a junkyard. Mine was hacked together by the last owner. I wound up finding one from an M roadster that has the clock/volt/oil temp gauges and I'd like to make use of these. I haven't yet pulled my old console out, so I may be surprised to find plugs for these behind the dash (some manufacturers ran ALL the wires and plugs behind the dash in ALL their cars for a more efficient assembly line, regardless of the car's trim level).

However, I am betting that I'll have to rig up my own connections to the oil and volt meter, probably salvaging the old clocks connection and moving it to the new one. So, here's my question:

Has anyone done this before? If so, can you point me to an online tutorial or review? My searches aren't bring up anything. I am very confident about hooking up the volt meter, since it only requires a positive and negative lead. The oil temp, on the other hand... I know it also needs a sender unit from the oil pan area.
