Update on this situation. Had to replace the subframe bushings and the right rear strut mount. Preventive replacement of left mount too. Car is as quiet as a mouse and rides like new. Work done by Tom Hesser BMW in Scranton, PA. If you are anywhere near Scranton, that's the place to go for dealer service. Labor rate is very reasonable and service is exceptional.
