Lovely warm spell at the moment, 20-25DegC.

For the last week the air con would stop blowing cold air about 15 mins after being turned on. I checked A/C gas and topped up a little.

Then for the last coupla days, about 15 mins after starting it sounded as though there was a WW2 air raid siren under the bonnet, with siren pitch modulating a bit.

Then, today, all OK for 15 mins, then air raid siren for 10 mins, then BRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTT - sounded like the ABS motor on constant or something. The sound stopped when I turned off the aircon.

Research indicates there's an electric, aux fan somewhere that (might) turn on & off with the air con. But I just can't find it! I saw one post that talks about removing the entire front of the car (lights, bumper etc) to access the aux fan but no pics or details of the fan.

Anyone been here before? Is the problem likely to be the aux fan / motor? Where is it and how to get at it? And can I repair/replace the motor, or should I replace the entire aux fan assembly?
