I happened to have the same problem. In fact I tried using a chisel with no avail. I was about to give up and started thinking what do people do to remove parts that are stuck like bushings? They heat them up. So I used a heat gun too warm up the outer edge of piston head and tried keeping the heat off of the center cap. Sure enough the first tap with the chisel and it moved like it was never tightened. I hope this helps anyone in the future. I am attempting to use the cap that has a 1/4" hole through the weep hole. My dad thought that drilling a hole and pounding a torque bit in it would give him more to grip with and that did not work. The cap looks like it has been beat to crap but it will hold the inner workings in as long as we can tighten it back. Will update.
