Subject: DSP amp replacement questions

I have a 2000 740i with navigation 10 disc cd changer in trunk, no phone. Basically all stock. I have determined that my DSP amp is dead as I have no sound from the radio,cd,cassette, or navigator although the radio tunes to all stations and the screen display works for everything. All the sound went out and I have double checked every connection in the trunk associated with anything audio, cleaned connectors, looked for bad solder joints, blah blah blah. I noticed that after I lost the sound the DSP option on the screen was no longer there so I belive that since the amp may have died that it is no longer seen by the computer I guess. Anyway I plan to buy one used. I see lots on Ebay with similar part numbers and 1 with the same part #. My question is can I use a slightly different part # or must it be exact (with the same hardware and software #s? Mine is 65.12-6 901 881 with HW:02 and SW:03 it says UTLOEWE on it and it is not a Phillips I guess. I am MOST CONCERNED about not having to have anything RECODED??? How can I best replace mine and not have to pay a dealer to recode things? This car has been great since I bought it but I need to have some audio. Thanks
