I'm also in the market, and test drove an SMG yesterday. I couldn't get over the uncomfortable sensation while holding down the accelerator with constant pressure, while the car went through it's shifting sequence casually. It felt like car was skipping or had a governor on the system.

Perhaps I need to give the SMG another chance, but my first experience wasnt that enjoyable..... and YES, distracting.
