Is there any sign of oil around the compressor? What are the symptoms? A de-gas and vacuum test may be an initial action to diagnose correctly - there may leak/s somewhere else.

I was advised that if the Compressor is a BOSCH- then about a 3-4 hour bench re-build is an option - one would have to know what to do before embarking on it.

Once done a vacuum test will need to be done on the whole system to ensure the re-gas will last.
