Subject: I bought my first BMW (97 540i 6-sp) on Friday...

..and just wanted to say hello to my fellow Minnesota BMW owners; I live in Maplewood. I found this board off of roadfly.com, great site!

I have an appt at Orr on Friday to have a post-puchase inspection and get rid of that darn CVD. For the first few days of driving my car, I was guessing that my clutch was slipping and may need to be replaced; but thankfully it can be easily pulled. The 540i with the 6-speed is a great car, certianly a step up from my previous two Maximas.

Since my car is a 97, it has a few typical scratches and door dings. Can anyone recommend a body shop to get an inexpensive quote done? Or a good detaling shop? If a fellow BMW owner can provide these services, let me know (red4dsc at gmail dot com), I would prefer to throw money that way.

I look forward to meeting some of you guys this summer at an event or two.

TIA
