LOL, well 134A depletes it too... just not as much. Europe is going to another refrigerant pretty soon here from what I have read up.

Freeze 12 works decently, it is 80-85% 134A anyway but you are allowed to squeeze in a tad more of their refrigerant versus a straight 134A charge. My pal uses F12 in his 300TD Wagon with decent results.

Cost wise per 16oz pound is a wash, do the math to see. Even in the height of summer you are talking maybe a $75 difference... I have purchased two 30lb tanks of R12 for $260-300/ea. I had to get a can of R12 last summer for my 300SDL as I was out of town and I spent $25 for 12oz.



PLUS many shops will not deal with refrigerant blends. If you need to have it serviced in the future if you are unable to do it yourself.
