Hi Greg, thats the sort of information I was looking for- in fact, it explains the control system in pretty good detail. Thanks for breaking it down to a clear level of inputs/outputs.

"As far as I can see all the Sprint Booster box is capable of doing, is increasing the signal level from the wireless throttle. The effect can't be any different to pressing the pedal harder." -Greg.

I thought that this sprint booster thingo actually increased the signal level from the 'throttle position sensor' (which all E39 cars, either drive-by-wire or mechanical cable) have got on the side of the throttlebody, connected to the throttle butterfly plate.

But if like you say, it is meant to intercept and modify the wireless throttle signals, then yeah, it wont work on a cable linkage setup.

**And with the incidence of runaway throttle cars on the increase for some bizarre reason, I think its wise to just leave things alone I guess. I read that now it isnt just toyotas- Citroens which were made in the same Czech factory as the toyotas, are suffering runaway throttle too. It has to be a common proprietary system being used in all these new cars, which has got some serious bugs in it. I can see a lot of cheap used toyotas on the horizon in the next few years, because they'll be branded with this problem and resale will suffer.. Unlike E39 cars, which seem to be pretty robust apart from the cooling system
