So I have this 84 318i, I know e30, long story short my block is cracked.



So after doing exhaustwork for a bmwcca member I asked him if he had an extra motor to sell me. The guy didnt have an e30 318 engine but a 2002 engine that he gave to me. Turns out as I'm sure some of you already know the motor mount locations are different also the head looked like its set up for CIS...



Came across a craigslist add recently and picked up a 83 320is m10 motor. Turns out that one is wrong too, motor mount locations look similar, but the head also looks like its set up for CIS. I know idiot should have learned the first time very upset.



Needless to say I'm not rich. My question is, does anybody know if I can swap the head from my e30 to the block from the e21 without any issues? I.E. water jackets, oilpassages, piston/valve clearance?



My plan of action would be A: To swap the head over, swap oil pans, and if necessary fab motor mounts or B: Try and sell the motors online

Any thoughts?
