OK... still no solution? Six weeks on...
One "Specialist" auto electrician had car for 4 days & charged me $600 and said, "There... "...is no problem". .....but he couldn't get it started??? Jeasus...

AFTER READING MY PERSONALLY SUPPLIED "BENTLEY" MANUAL (which he charged me for FN reading time (Yep, four hours reading TIME) & access to this E34 HELP/SUPPORT site, et. Within 5 minutes of driving away the car stalled. Rang the person & he said, "Sorry, mate, nothing more I can do"!!! And left me stranded.

GUESS HOW MANY REFERRALS HE"LL GET FROM ME!!!

Several other "full time electrical & general mechanics" have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA! $1,350 later! DUH!

Now In the process of testing the main ECU/DME for faults by ANOTHER "SPECIALIST"!
I've found a 'local' firm who say they can test the ECU ...WITHOUT the car! Fantastic! BMW dealers want the entire car... $800 towing plus their fees of about $2,000??? I don't think so.... although???
3-4 grand & a few days WOULD relieve some stress. Possibly.
Grrrrr
Jim

AHhhhh! ALPINA's!
