I am certain that the aux pinouts are the same for the navigation and non-navigation radios. I have done a couple installations, and the pinouts in that post are what I used in my installs and others have used for their nav radio installs.

There is nothing special that you need to do. Normally, you connect the aux cable to the radio plug, and the next time you turn it on, you get the "AUX" added to your options when you cycle through the inputs with the MODE button. One person had an issue where his only presents the AUX when it has an audio device connected, but that is rare. It is probably due to a radio defect. If you have tried it with two different radios and two different cables, the only thing I can think of is that you are not connecting to the correct sub-plug or the correct pins. I would triple-check there.
