Well hello there fellow 7er's, I felt the urge to share my evening test drive after cleaning my diff...speed sensor late last night. It all started out very calm, cool, collective (yet speeding-nonetheless), but became very interesting as I arrived in Old Town Pasadena via the 210 East. At the present time, the radar is going nuts, and I'm steadily holding around 90mph, no other car insight. Wow, what a wonderful feeling...Shifts are smooth, and crisp; engine is purring underneath its shiny hood.
And there....my hindsight picks it up....a pair of Xenons-coupled with foglights: resembling a fellow Socal 7'er was gaining quite fast. I eased on the "air pedal" and descend to 80 to see who this chance encounter turned out to be. Unfortunately, I forget that my front windows are heavily tinted, and upon first gaze-his were too. Nice pretty metallic blue though...odd-that 740i (Sport???) metallic blue looks like one of my fellow 7'ers that I might at the Irvine Spectrum.....Eh-what the hey-I could be mistaken. Anyways- As foolish as this may sound-I proceed to ease my "accelerometer" close to the floor; accelerating way past 110 within seconds; only to see "Mr. Blue" take off and narrowly gain distance ahead (roughly half a car length). As our beasts gain momentuous speed, we came upon a rather long right curve as the 210 East reaches Monrovia city limits. But hey- whats that slow moving civic in the fast lane doing in front of me (about four car lengths) not moving over even after I've "courtesy flashed him".....oh what the hell, either way, I'm off to county if I'm caught at this speed- so I hopped into the carpool lane at about 115 in a turn; screammmminnnng past the civic (which was now only a speck as everything is 'light speed' at the moment)......to my amazement-the steering is smooth yet, minimal body roll occurred. Then a quick lean to the left and we're out of the bend, now reaching towards 135.......Now this is when I had to cut out-only because of safety concern regarding my tires. These Continental Contitouring's are only limited to 125mph......And now the radar is really going APE S@*%, no longer beeping, but just steadily bbeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppppppp......This is when I gained tail with "Mr. Blue" and followed his lead exiting Michillinda, heading north on Rosemead Blvd.
As we round the right turn and speed up towards the overpass of the 210......hey look two squard cars with the nice Police man have apprehended another speeder and has them handcuffed.....BRAKKEEEEEE......slowling to the speed limit (around 40mph from 80mph).....Under the freeway we go, and now approaching Foothill Blvd- Sharp right hand turn- still going around 45....no tire screeching.....good car....good car......
This ends the chase as it may seem because "Mr. Blue" decides to merge back onto the 210, now heading west. So I flash the customary "Hey thanks for the excitement, you just made my drive so much more interesting-now I'm more motivated to transforming my beast into a custom M7 conversion with twin chargers and a manual gesture".....So Simeon any advice?????

P.S.- Soon I will be acquiring an 01 740i sport and Chip Programming here I come.....

There you have it folks, a night of thrill.....committing many many many traffic violations, all for the adrenaline rush and letting "Bella" stretch out her legs and enjoy herself.....

By the way-this only happened because Lisa (my Fiance and faithful Navigator/co-pilot/drink holder/keep me awake too) was at home in Ontario napping away.....I was on my way to suprise her. She would have had a horrendous SH(* FIT if I drove that way with her in the car. Trust me-three hard smacks to the head-after I left the Bali Hai meet with Jeremy occurred when I decided to teach my young cousin a lesson about trying to race "Bella" with an 01 stock Honda Civic.

Till next time my fellow Socal 7'ers.......or Saturday evening when I enjoy her again.....

B.
