Sorry for taking so long to respond but here is where I went for my E28 and it's auto tranny issues. They're knowledgable in BMW transmissions and are a VERY friendly, patient group. They had my car in and around their shop for about 5 months (NOT their fault, I ordered a "3rd party" tranny that had problems)

Greg (manager) at Kennedy Transmission in Oak Park Heights near Stillwater on the east side of the cities, right off of 36 and 5.651-430-9401 I don't know where Robbinsdale is so maybe a closer Kennedy Transmission would be better for ya.

I also have a complete 4spd auto tranny from an 85 735i sittin around if worse comes to worse for ya.
