Subject: Honda key stuck in M3 car door lock

Okay, I know this sounds stupid but....

Last week I added a key to my wife's 2000 Honda Odyssey onto my keyring so I wouldn't always have to look for another set of keys when getting ready to drive the family around on the weekend, and wouldn't you know it -- tonight I was locking my 1999 M3 convertible and accidentally stuck the Honda key into the driver's door lock.

Once I realized the mistake (because the key stopped going in after about an inch), I figured it was no big deal and I would just pull it out. However, apparently the Honda key is just similar enough to go into the lock but now is "caught." No matter how I jiggle it and yank on it, it won't come out. I have even tried running a stiff wire into the keyhole alongside the Honda key to see if I could somehow disengage whatever lock cylinder pins might be jammed against the key.

Luckily, the top was down on the car and I have a spare key so getting into the car is not a problem right now but I can't be driving around with a Honda key hanging out my driver door.

Any ideas before I have to resort to a locksmith? Any simple solutions other than dismantling the door?

Thanks.
