obd2 codes p1421 and 1423 (2000 323i)

hi there. i posted a message about this problem yesterday. i found out on a website that
p1421 means secondary air injector valve corcuit short to ground.
p1423 means secondary air injection bank 1 flow too low.
does anyone know what that means? could you please explain it as simple as possible? thanks....
