Subject: You can install the TCU-based Bluetooth system in your car

My Dad and I just installed a TCU in his 2002 E46 M3. Your car and his car have nearly identical wiring. Here is the parts list to upgrade from the Motorola phone to the Bluetooth TCU. You have the SES module already, so you can leave that in the car. The TCU has voice recognition built in for phone instructions (but not navigation instructions), and it is turned off by default. So, you can simply install the TCU in place of your existing Motorola V Series TCU.

84.10-9 195 455 Bluetooth Assist TCU with voice recognition
84.31-6 938 762 Upgraded microphone (if your car has the earlier mic)
84.50-6 928 461 Bluetooth antenna
61.12-0 137 616 Bluetooth antenna cable

You can do this installation without any recoding. Just plug-in the parts and go.

The E46 installation guide is pretty good. However, the TCU does not require the eject box or pairing button in the center console. So, you can ignore those steps. You will install the BT antenna in the bracket on the back side of the console as shown.
