::Steps on Soap Box:: These cars are not drag racers, never meant to be drag racers and will never be drag racers*. What these cars did and still do well is go down the road very comfortably at high rates of speed for very long periods of time and they go around corners very gracefully. Neither of which require noise from under the hood to impress. People have used these cars to go from stop to wide open and they almost all come back complaining about all the repair bills.

* If you replace the gibo with a U joint and replace the rear end with a solid axle then you will be closer to a car that is capable of handling the abuse of going from 0 to WTFO. ::Steps Off Soap Box::

88 528e (US) x2 >200,000 and still going strong, the other >300,000 miles saved my sisters life, but gave its own (head on collison at 120 mph what an idiot, she was doing 55 in the other direction)

91 325iC (US) 190,000 miles saved my life but gave its own (T bone to drivers door at 45 mph)
