My factory warranty is coming up in February '10. I currently have 34,500 miles on my 2006 750i and understand that it is much cheaper to extend the warranty if under 35,000 miles (anyone else heard this?) I am the 2nd owner and the car was not CPO so I cannot extend through the dealer/BMW. I have a quote from Warranty Direct for $3,000 for 5 yrs or 50k additional miles (85,000 total.) So my first question is; if I plan on keeping the vehilce for at least 3 more years (say up to 70,000 miles) do I need to get the warranty or should I take my chances? Second question is; what do you guys think about the cost of the warranty vis-a-vis the length and miles? My research indicates that Warranty Direct is a solid company and that their "Elite+" warranty covers everything except the Nav and "consumables."
