or from any other country. Look as example at the British car industry.
The beginnings 1896–1900
The stabilisation 1900–1918
Strong growth 1918–1939
World dominance 1939–1955
Meltdown 1955–1968
State support 1968–1977
Rationalisation and collaboration 1977–1986
Foreign influence 1987 - 2000
Mixed fortunes since 2000

It is a pity, but there is always a coming and going. Not only in car industry.
beginning>stabilisation>growth>dominance> meltdown.......

Look at history, the Romans, the other ancient empires, all went the same way.
Maybe in 50 years cars are made in central Africa or another planet by robots and others have to shut down, no one knows, climate changes and so on.
