The problem our gov't (at both Federal and State level) is not one of revenue but of expenses. Simply put, the gov't spends too much. No program ever got axed, every department wakes up every morning thinking of how to expand its mandate and spends every alloted dime lest funding be cut for next year.

Historically, every time tax rates are increases, tax revenue goes down. If one truly wants to increase revenue, it can only be done by lowering tax rates.

Increasing tax rate serves nothing except to redistribute wealth.

By the way, it is impossible to give 95% of working Americans a tax cut because close of half pays almost no tax. The only way it can happen is via expanded tax credit to the poor. In other words, give them a higher refund even though they don't pay any taxes to begin with. It is just another redistribution gimmick.
