Well, I was driving my cousin's 1995 740iL back home from a fishing trip in SoCal about 3AM. My cousin was in the passenger seat and my brother in the back. We're on the 5 South headed towards SF Valley. Im on the very left lane and unknown to me, the the left lane was ending and merging into the lane to the right. I wasnt paying attention to the lane ahead of me cuz i just realized I missed the freeway split to the 405S. I put my eyes back on the road and I already ran over about 5 -7 delineators just at the point the lane was merging to the right (I pretty much drove straight ahead instead of merging to the right). Now if I had put my eyes to the road2 seconds earlier I would have realized that I was about to run over the delineators. But there was still about 100 ft of distance straight ahead, more than enough for me to brake safely even if i didnt merge to the left. But it all happened so quickly that I panicked and pulled a hard right, right after I drove over the delineators. I noticed a small sedan to the right of me and so i pulled a hard left and the left side of car scraped and bounced off the center divider. At this point the engine shut off, assuming lost all power, steering locked, brakes locked, air bags deployed and the whole interior cabin was filed with that old air bag dust. I had no sense of direction and was blinded by all the dust. So the car bounced off the center divider, swerved through 6 lanes to the very right lane without a hitting a single car and crashed head on into a light pole at about 80-90mph without anyone wearing a seatbelt. I blacked out for a split second when I hit my head into the windshield but remember falling back in my seat after I hit it. At this point the windows were automatically dropped down and we just jumped out of the car in less the half a second. I dont know how we alive after this accident. That small white sedan I mentioned earlier witnessed the whole thing and stopped behind us. They were afraid to get out of the car thinking they would see three dead and mangled bodies. Miracle.

I walked away with a fractured wrist, my cousin got a cut on his chin, and my brother got hit by the rear armrest in the back and flew in between the front seats from the back, broke the front seats from their supports with his shoulders, and lunged forward and hit the gear shifter with his eye. But all in all, minor injuries.

And no I wasn't drunk, high, or whatever. Just stupid. Lesson learned. A word to the wise: the pictures posted below are not for the weak/faint hearted:














This is the worst of all. Dvinci Blade IIs mangled.

The rear armrest was broken from its supports and hit my brother in the back.

See the front seats broken inward from its supports? You can imagine how fast we hit that pole.
