hi all help please i am a girl who has just started her own garage. the rac towed an 318 e46 to us this week with no injection pulse, when we checked it we found injection pulse (switching ) on no 1 but no spark. coil tested and resistance ok no switching from ecu . checked cam and crank sensor and found cam sensor definatly nackered , replaced cam and crank sensor, erased ecu codes and started up vehicle only runns very badly on cylinders 1 and 4 no switching of either coils or injectors from ecu which is a bosch dme . have tried all pin data tests all ok. all the local specialists bmw and ecu testers say ecu (dme ) cannot be tested and or repaired . oh had a thought that the timing chain may have jumped causing the incorrect sensor relationship so checked it chain is tight so don't think it coud have jumped . new ecu £585 plus vat plus coding , ouch !!! anyone out ther know of anyone who can test the dme i have scoured the interweb and need help xxxxxxxxxx Rachel rachelandsue@hotmail.co.uk
