Subject: Someone gave us an 850ci

We were given a once well maintained 1991 ( E31 ) 850ci, 113k miles. The car is Black on Black, not wrecked and a M-tech Csi style aero body kit is available.

I am the advisor for our high school's car club and we plan on parting this car out to raise cash to buy a 325i/325is and parts for the kids to make into an E30 spec-racer. $2500 takes the whole thing or we will consider trades for a clean E30 + cash. This was a donation to our club and is the result of a project gone awry, the car is disassembled and appears to be all there, perfect for the E31 enthusiast seeking a spare-parts car, just clean and box the parts and stack on your shelves. The body is straight, and the engine is complete and was running well according to a BMW tech that knew the car. The DME and tranny controller were chipped, and a custom free flow exhaust was installed before the project began. The black leather interior panels are in great shape and the wiring harnesses appear to be intact. This is the perfect vehicle for someone interested in building a racer, half the work is done (imagine how many hours it would take to properly disassemble a complete 850ci!) A majority of these parts would also work on any 840ci or 850i as well.

Someone buy this car before we start parting it out, not only will you have treasure-trove of parts, you will be helping to re-kindle in our kids the magic we experienced when we were younger and began to modify our rides for the track. Remember those days, when there were only 13 channels on the TV set and video games didn’t exist, even in Sci-fi novels. The days when getting a “Real” set of tools for a Christmas gift was totally awesome, and dad’s new power lawn mower was fair game. We would really like to see this car go as a package deal so we can get started on our E30 project, everything is negotiable! Help get our kids out from behind a computer monitor and back into the garage where an inquisitive mind and a pair of hands that one wasn't afraid to get dirty were good for more than pushing buttons on a video game controller.

Peace, Dennis
