I love the german car community - always willing to offer advice.

My e38 experience was great, and I hope this will go as well. The only killers on the e38 for me were the cats which the dealer did replace, and the radiator expansion tank blowing on me. Other than that the car had over 105K on the clock when it met its demise and had very little else maintenance wise.

I found a 97 m3 locally and I am going to go check it out later this week. The car itself has had very minor mods done to it (gutted muffler, under drive pully, alternator overdrive, aluminum radiator and metal water pump, carbon fiber air intake). I don't think any of these mods are going to hurt anything. The car is supposed to have a really nice interior with vader seats and in good shape. Stock wheels and suspension are a real turn on for me. The car was never tracked and has been used as a daily driver. It had a motor replaced in 2002 under factory warranty (was certified preowned), and that seems fine by me. I am waiting on the mechanic he uses to finish putting in the clutch, throw out bearing, and new slave cylinder and I should be able to test drive it later this week...wish me luck.

Thanks again

-Steve
