I lost my key and ordered replacement key from my dealer for my 2004 325XI. The key was $135.00 with tax. Unfortunately the remote functions are not recognized by the car until the key remote is initialized. Does anyone know how to do this? I am ok with default key options, just need to initialize so car/key recognize each other. My dealer wants another $50.00 for this, and who knows how much more if I want to change settings on the key. Apparently this does not require key to be inserted into programming unit. Someone told me there is a relatively simple sequence to do tihs on your own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
