Maybe I judged you too harshly before. I think that all your points are valid and true. Producing more oil (In the US) is only a short term measure. Also I think the developed world (and the US in particular) need to get their heads around sustainability. Higher prices will force this development. Look at Europe...given the prices of petrol are still high there, but the development of advanced diesels of many European manufacturers hasn't occurred for no reason there.

Ethanol works from a scientific perspective. But when you examine the underlying economics it does not make sense.
