it's a B3 3.0 Alpina BMW.
They (Alpina) 'breathed' on the BMW engine (2.8/3.0 based I think), different pistons (Mahle) exhaust, crank, cams, head etc, vastly superior to the std cars, and on par with the M3 where performance is concerned.
Externally, you'll have Alpina 17" alloys, Bilstein suspension, different exhaust system, front spoiler (small) and inside you may well find Alpina instruments (recalibrated) Alpina trimmed seats and steering wheel with Alpina gear shifter knob!
