I might try this with the truck battery.

Since disassembling a sealed lead/acid battery (like UPS/wheelchair batt) turned out to be a big mistake, I have held off on experimenting with this.

I wonder if the purity of the acid matters. If the plates are fine maybe it could be good as new with fresh acid.
