I owned an early 02 a few years ago but am basically a BMW newbie. I am looking at a '82 320i with an automatic trans for my daughter. (She loves these cars but can not drive a stick and I don't hold out much hope she will learn.) Owner says it runs and drives but will not go in reverse. Is there a common problem that could cause this? How durable is this auto trans?

Oh yea, does anyone have an automatic 2002 or 320i for sale around the Tulsa area? I would like to spend about $2K if possible.
