LPG is actually better than gasoline for engine longevity. As long as the ignition is tuned specifically for LPG and not the dual fuel compromise. Look at how long the oil stays looking new.
I don't see LPG being much of a savings now with the reduced energy content and high prices. In addition NOx is much higher because the systems are not as well monitored as an injected engine so in a modern vehicle with stringent emissions testing it isn't viable. I owned a factory converted Jeep XJ but converted it to gasoline because the tanks reduced my ground clearance and I sold my F150 4x4 because it just wasn't convenient to fill and accurately monitor fuel levels and operating in temperatures below -40 was problematic.
I still service two LPG trucks and the fuel systems are quite dependable... it's the fuel level that is a pain because the systems are quite inaccurate.
