I figured that you were tied to AT&T, so I was more thinking of it as a general Peral interview.

The issue, as I understand it, is that the phone locks itself to half volume when it is connected to the BT system. Theoretically this should not be a problem at all, if the car handles the volume from that point on. Also, it may be more of a perception thing, as it appears that the full volume from the phone is not available to the car.

Overall, I would say that I get excellent in-car volume from my Pearl. Though, there are times when it was way too low, but that was connection related. When I hung up and redialed, the volume was fine.

The only way to know for sure would be to use an AT&T Pearl in your car. Fortunately, I believe that AT&T has a 30 day return policy, so if it does not perform the way you like, they will take it back with no questions asked.
