The symptom is that the left tail light does not work. The bulb is OK, the socket is OK, the ground is OK - there is no power to the socket. There is no indicator light. The car is a 318is not 318ic, ie, 2 door coupe, not convertible. My manual indicates that while for the S14, M20 engine E30 the relay "is on the inside front of the left rear quarter panel, behind the trim", for my M42 engine car, "...the right front corner of the engine compartment".
