JohnG,

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll get searching for the windshield thread.

Yes, she is a little different... Especially when you go for the emissions check!!! As I have never been able to find the OBD2 port... And no, it's not in, or under the dash... Which is a possibility as the car has undergone a US conversion... I’ve always had to run it on the rolling road, and she passes fine.

I've always thought that if BMW ever were to make an M7... This would be pretty close to it... Actually, with bigger brakes, and wheels, plus some body skirts... dual exhausts... and some engine tweakes... Well, you'd be right there! This is the engine block used for the McLaren F1 road car... So, I'd say the engine has potential! :-)))))) But even at stock hp, she does get up and go when you stand on her! :-)))))) And I love the selectable 5 speed auto box... She also has an M steering wheel from the factory...

It's a great fun car. She's a little rough, as she has been a northern car most of her life, and started out in Florida (after she was brought from Germany by a retired business man) salty air... But, over all, not too bad. Some of the trim is beginning to need replacement... And there are a few niggling things (rattling in the drivers door... Crackling speakers... the dome light thing... But, I've been working away at the list one thing at a time (just replaced all the rotors and pads...). Eventually, she will be tip top shape... I'd say she "a keeper". :-)))

I hope to make it to the 02/02/08 meeting, and meet you there. Look for a short dark blue car! :-)))))
BrianB.
