I have oem rims and being I'm in So. Calif, I have not a clue what are winter tires, but I have new tires and they were balanced.

I do here a faint repetitive rubbing or clicking type of noise that is relative to the car speed. I did replace the front pads with ceramic ones when I did the front end, so maybe it's that.

Also, I may have preloaded the drive shaft in the wrong direction (post loaded)according to the Bentley manual I just downloaded.Bentley BMW E36 3 Series Service Manual I now have information on how to do the job correctly, thanks to you.

Both I'll be checking today.

But I'm still concerned about alignment. How critical is preloading the car with weights during alignment and would an average shop have the proper equipment, tools, and knowledge to do the job right. If there was still a problem with the suspension, would it have been able to be aligned? What about weak or bent coil springs?

And finally, could the final drive or trans cause this? How bout wheel bearings?

I know I ask alot of questions, but if I'm not sure, I won't work on it. I really appreciate the help and all the info I've obtained from this forum. It's helped me out more than once, believe that. I'll report later tonight on my findings today.

Thanks
