I grew up in the NorthEast and even though I was living in Alabama on 9-11, I lost a highschool buddy who worked at Cantor-Fitzgerald and another who was a chef at Windows on the World. I know the old joke about Manhattanites not knowing what's beyond the river, but believe me, those of us in fly-over territory are tuned in. So, when you see some hick shedding a tear for the twin towers or for the 3000+ lives, don't take it so personally -- those were our towers and friends too, not just yours.
