BC that was a cheap shot. He did it inside and probably in less time than it will take you to make the white 750 roadworthy. You, it appears have a very thin skin. I started this thread to WARN you of potential problems that some action now would prevent or reduce. Shayne did a fine job of outlining many of the actions that should be done. There was a long thread when you asked what options others suggested relative to your prize. As I remember u rejected all in favor of a full restoration without the funds or tools. Cool.

I try to post only answers based on experience or knowledge, not what a manual says, because experience has taught me that the manual is 1 usually wrong and 2 only 1/4 of the answer. Neither my experience nor my knowledge is vast, but I have been maintaining my vehicles for
49 years next month.

So my motivation in this post was 1. to offer some past experience based knowledge of what is now for you a '4-? month old problem'. And I will admit, in another vein to perhaps have u think about 'STARTING', at least to perserve what you have and think about ACTION. I will also admit that, given that time is finite, you might look and the cost/benefit ratio of you 'emotional' envolvement and that you would be working on an e32 and not quoting whatever you learned from a manual or what I consider spam. IE. Wow guys he has a 6 speed. He already said that.
'How does the left foot feel?'. He has a haudralic clutch!. Imagine that. Hmm - experience a 5000# pressure plate in a mech clutch in a
'50 ford behind a 48 Cad motor, Yup one strong left leg. Old school.
Add a hydraulic pedal and no sweat. Amazing what experience will teach one.

What is UR GOAL? I assume to drive a white 88 750. I am 1/2 way through L Iaccos book 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Interesting reading. To achieve you need PRIORITIES AND PEOPLE as a leader.
Works for any task or project. What are yours and who are the people?

Just a suggestion BC - get on track with the 750. Fix it, sell it, junk it or whatever. I don't know sh*t about a 750 motor, so I cannot help, others will. Fish or cut-bait comes to mind.

Such is my opinion, following an attempt to help you!
