I posted an ignorant message (Oil Pressure gauge)here already, but wanted to formally announce I have joined this board. BimmerBoard should get a kickback from BMW. A couple of months ago I bought my first BMW, a '98 740il (for my wife). The info on here and on E38.org assisted me in installing the Bluetooth phone with dual band antenna and snap-in connector for my Nokia 6310i world phone, hardwiring my Valentine 1, and Stealth one, fixing a power window, and a radiator problem. It also assisted me in buying a LOAD of navigation equipment that I haven't gotten to installing yet. I was so impressed with the quality (build, comfort) of the E38 and board support that I bought my daughter an '87 325i. Then I pouted for a while (I commute in a '03 Honda Civic Hybrid), until I convinced myself I deserved my OWN BMW. I went looking for a common sense, used, 330Ci with Sport package and manual transmission. I found one parked next to a blue 2001 M5...it must have been a sign!! First car that competes with my wife! Anyway, let's get this thing rolling. I see some of the E38 board is here already, THANKS for all the great info that you all provide.
