Subject: I can confirm at least partially that this BTUM is for E65/66 only

I stopped by the dealer last week to try one of these new adapters for my E38.

The eject box connectors are DIFFERENT for the E38 CPT8000 and the E65/66 CPT8000. There are different numbers of pins as well as different connectors themselves. In the E38, the eject box connects to the coax antenna lead as well as the harness, i.e., two connections, two wires. Apparently the E65/66 eject box wiring has a single connector, since the installation instructions make no mention of a coax connection.

I took photos if you want to see the two connectors up close (E38 eject box and E65/66 BT module).

Since I think and E39 CPT8000 is identical to an E38 CPT8000, the BT module won't work in an E39 either.
