To set up check the valve timing on the M60 engine you will need some BMW tools
To lock up the camshafts if you can’t get a hold of these there not much you can do
Sorry

If you have the tools then you need to remove the cam covers and turn engine to TDC and use the locking pin to locate TDC .Then fit locking plates on the rear of both cams there are flat edges like a square at the end of the cams, the tools will fit over them and lie flat against the head if the gap between the tool and the head is more then 1mm then the timing is out.

You will need the remove the tools and turn the engine 180 degs and loosen off the
Cam bolts that you can see. So they don’t touch the sprockets
Then turn engine to TDC using the crank tool pin the locate TDC ,then refit the cam tools with out the locking clamps.
Now you can loosen off the rest of the cam bolts on both sides this will release the sprockets form the cams now fit the cam locking clamps to the cam plate this will put the cams into the right position you may need to tap the cams plate tool to make sure they are fully down.

When you are sure the cams are right then retighten the top cam bolts on both sides
Then remove the tools from the cams and turn the engine 180 degs and tighten up the rest of the cam bolts

You need you apply pressure to the timing chain tensioner there is a tool for this but the
Spring pressure should be enough to hold it if not you will need this tool

Hope this will help
